Admission Requirements

The Master of Science in Telecommunication Systems Management degree is designed for professionals currently in the telecommunications field who either wish to enhance their technical skills and credentials, or who wish to make a transition to the business side of telecommunications especially to management or marketing. The disciplines from which applicants are expected to come include computer science, the physical sciences, mathematics and engineering. The successful applicant must demonstrate an inherent affinity for analytical thinking.

The program may be pursued on a part-time or full-time basis. The program requires that a mix of core required courses and elective courses be taken. As the core courses are all independent of each other, the program may be started in any semester.

Admission Requirements

Applicants must submit a completed application form, two confidential letters of recommendation, application fee of US$50, official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, and official scores of the GRE General Test (unless the GRE has been explicitly waived). International students must also submit official scores of the TOEFL examination and a Declaration and Certification of Finances (DCF) Form (if applicable). Acceptance to the program is granted upon the recommendation of the program's Graduate Committee after a review of the completed application.

Candidates for admission are required to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Students who have a BS in engineering, computer science, mathematics, or the physical sciences from a US college or university with a GPA of 3.000/4.000 or higher may request that the GRE requirement may be waived by so indicating in a letter that accompanies the application for admission.

It is expected that students beginning this program will have an adequate background in the following areas: C programming language, probability and statistics, and calculus. A set of prerequisite courses is available to bridge any gap in the technical background. All prerequisite courses must be taken unless waived by petition.
