Luca Caracoglia is currently an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of Northeastern
University. He received both his Civil
Engineering Degree and a Ph.D. (2001) in Civil Engineering from the University
of Trieste (Italy). He joined Northeastern University in January 2005
after one year (April 2001-June 2002) as
Post-doctoral Fellow at the Department of Civil Engineering, Johns
Hopkins University (JHU), Baltimore, MD and two and a half years (July
2002-December 2004) as Post-doctoral Research Associate at the
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of Illinois (Urbana-Champaign).
His research interests and activities include
structural engineering, structural dynamics, wind engineering,
wind-induced vibration and cable dynamics.
