Minor in Mechanical Engineering

A minor in Mechanical Engineering is open to all students in the University with the prerequisite of Calculus (MATH1341, MATH132, MATH2321), Differential Equations and Linear Algebra (MATH2341), Physics (PHYS1151) and Chemistry (CHEM1151). The minor is particularly designed for majors in Engineering (other than ME), Mathematics, and Science.

ME 4555 System Analysis and Control (ME 3455) 4 SH
ME 4570 Thermal Systems Analysis and Design (ME 2380, ME 3475) 4 SH
GPA Requirement
2.000 GPA required in the minor

Students must file a petition with the MIE Academic Advisor prior to taking any coursework.

Students should schedule a meeting with the MIE Academic Advisor prior to graduation, to be cleared for the minor.

ME 4508, ME 4550, ME 4555 and ME 4570 have prerequisites beyond ME 2350 and ME 2380.

Minimum of three courses from the above list is required if a student has equivalent courses from another engineering department.
