Professor Raynus teaches courses in Information Systems Planning and Management and Business Process Engineering. His interests are in research and development of innovative methodologies in the areas of Corporate Quality, Information Technology, Software Lifecycle Management and Program Management. He provides industry consulting, mentoring and training for quality and process improvement initiatives, management of conflicting business objectives and strategy goals, development of measurement frameworks, Balanced Scorecard, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Professor Raynus introduced innovative quality concept to predict executive customer escalations to one of his major clients that successfully predicted business events using data mining technology and reduced associated business cost of $25 million annually. He led multi-national teams in developing innovative solutions to control and manage programs, quality, and customer satisfaction, and helped companies on turning around broken product development processes. He conducted analysis and improvement of Software Development Life Cycle and defined quantitative quality and measurements framework mapped against industry best practices, to plan, measure, monitor, and track project performance. Joseph Raynus is a certified by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University as Capability Maturity Model to conduct assessments, training and implementation of processes across the phases of a project life cycle in the most cost-efficient and effective manner. Currently, Professor Raynus is providing advisory services to the US Government to procure and manage multimillion dollar program that consists of a group of software applications designed to provide a range of operational environments for mission training. Joseph Raynus has also developed an 8-Step Strategic Alignment and Governance Framework and is currently providing guidance for prototype implementation of this framework using web-based System Management and Reporting tool used by over 10,000 users. Mr. Raynus is a frequent speaker at Conferences and Professional Organization meetings such as IEEE, PMI, Association of Business Process Management Professionals, IT Metrics & Productivity Institute, as well as Business Process Management and New England Quality conferences. Mr. Raynus authored a book on software process improvement, quantification methodology, and metrics, which is sold by all major book sellers throughout the world. His new book titled “Challenge, Change, and Dashboard” is dedicated to the issues of Quantitative Performance Management, strategy definition and organizational alignment that connect organizational goals and strategy with process capabilities of functional areas and individual processes and scheduled for release in February 2010.
