Tricia McConville

Tricia McConville, EdD Candidate, MBA is Managing Director of The Global Learning Collaborative LLC, a learning and development organization specializing in management and organizational development. In addition to teaching for the Graduate School of Engineering, Tricia is an adjunct faculty member with Northeastern’s College of Business Administration and its adult part-time division. The courses Tricia teaches run the gamut from entrepreneurship to strategy and international business. She was formerly Academic Director of Northeastern University’s CPS Center for Leadership. Tricia was instrumental in the creation of the Center and the development of the leadership undergraduate and graduate degree and certificate programs.

Specialty Areas

Tricia’s primary research interest is in the field of leadership and international business. Tricia recently presented her research at an international leadership conference (ILA in Vancouver). The title of her presentation and white paper is, “The Impact of Participating in an Action Learning-Based Leadership Development Program on the Adult Learner”.

Work Experience

Tricia is a change agent. She has been involved in numerous change efforts, both large and small, in her career. Her projects have ranged from that of team building as a way to increase business performance to that of integrating cultures resulting from the merger of disparate businesses. She is currently engaged as Project Manager in the implementation of an enterprise-wide talent planning system, -a large-scale, technology-driven change effort - for a major financial services company.

Professionally, Tricia has spent more than fifteen years in the field of leadership, management, and organizational development both as a direct manager and consultant. Internally and externally, she has worked with a variety of organizations ranging from large Fortune 500 companies to smaller non-profits. As a professional, Tricia worked with all levels of management – from executive to supervisory – in solving business problems. Representative organizations include Fidelity, Jewish Vocational Services, EMC, Hewlett Packard, Ernst & Young, Citicorp, American Airlines, Digital Equipment and Nynex. With her work, Tricia traveled extensively in western and central Europe and Asia, affording her the opportunity to work with many different cultures.

Classes taught

The role of Information Technology in business has undergone a transformation in recent years. Rather than serve as a support function for the efficient operations of business, IT is the primary driver of change in organizations today. IT is linked with business strategy and organizational culture in today’s effective and competitive organizations. IT’s role and the complex dynamics of organizational change are subjects in an innovative addition to our curriculum. This new course is taught by faculty member, Tricia McConville.
