Overview
The Information Systems (IS) Program at Northeastern
University facilitates career transition and enhancement for students
with both technical and non-technical backgrounds. The primary audience
for this program consists of individuals who have been working in
their original non-technical discipline, as well as those who are
making a career shift immediately after completing the bachelor's
degree. Career transitions have been made from many disciplines
including: Engineering, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Life
Sciences, Mathematics, Business and Liberal Arts. Transition to
a new career is aided by co-operative work assignments and internships
that permit the student to experience IT-related work before seeking
permanent placement.
Our graduates hold positions such as Software Engineers, Programmer
Analysts, Quality Assurance Engineers, Technical Support Specialists,
Database Managers and Project Leaders. There are over 1200 alumni
of the program and a current student body in excess of 100 students.
