Capstone Design ProjectsThe Capstone Design Course is a senior-level team project design course that requires the Capstones to use all of their CET, EET and/or MET courses to solve a "real-world" engineering problem or to develop a viable product. With the mentoring and instruction of the entire SET faculty, this course concludes the engineering technology Capstone's academic studies by solving an engineering problem that does not have an "answer in the back of the book". Rather, the answer is determined from the application of good engineering analysis and judgment borne of coop and classroom experience. Northeastern University's Energy Center (created as a capstone project in 2005-2006) is a data acquisition system created for researchers and universities to conduct searches on energy produced at different renewable energy sites nation wide. Data acquired is compared against such variables as location and current weather conditions. Move mouse over the links below to see some other examples of past design projects. |
