- If I have missed an exam or final, how do I make it up?
If you are absent from a midterm examination, you may request that your instructor grant permission to take a makeup examination; you do not automatically have the right to make up a missed examination. If permission is granted, arrange to have your instructor coordinate with you and the department office for a day and time for you to take the examination. All examinations will be administered in the department office (120 Snell Engineering Center) during regular office hours. There is no fee for a midterm makeup.
If you are absent from a final examination, you will receive a grade of I (Incomplete) for the course. You do not automatically have the right to make up a missed final examination but rather must file a petition to do so. Petitions may be obtained from the department office (120 Snell Engineering Center). If the petition is granted, you must pay a fee before taking the makeup examination. You will be notified when and where to take the makeup final examination. If you do not take the makeup final examination as scheduled, you will forfeit the makeup privilege. Final examinations will not be administered early. Students who cannot take the final examination with their class must petition to take the makeup final examination as noted above.
