Dear Colleagues:

Welcome to the Engineering Technology Listserv!

Further down this page, I've provided a basic outline of how to use the Listserv. I recommend that you bookmark this page for future reference.

I would also ask that you take great care that the messages you send to the Listserv have general interest to the entire Engineering Technology community. Also, please encourage responses to yourself only, and then you can summarize them to the entire Listserv. This will help in cutting down on Listserv traffic. Another item to note is that you should not use attachments. We strip them to prevent viruses. You should therefore paste the information from attachments into the body of your e-mail message.

When you are replying to a message on the Listserv, please be sure that you "Reply" and not "Reply All," again cutting down on traffic. We have had people unsubscribe from the Listserv out of irritation with extraneous messages.

How to Use the Listserv

To get on the Listserv:

Send a message (leave subject field blank) to listproc@coe.neu.edu with message body:

 

SUBSCRIBE ETD-L your_first_name your_last_name

 

To post a message on the ETD Mailing List:

Send your message to etd-l@coe.neu.edu .

 

If you have an attached file, I would encourage you to paste it into your e-message, as some server software may not be able to decode it, and you can avoid the chance of a virus. Also, as noted above, when you send a question to the Listserv, please encourage responses to yourself only, and then you can summarize them to the entire Listserv. This will help in cutting down on Listserv traffic.

E-mail addresses of members are alphabetized from right to left. This is so that institutional e-mail domains will be in order.

 

To use the "Digest" feature:

If you feel the frequency of messages on the Engineering Technology Listserv is too high for your taste, there is a feature called "Digest" that allows you to get your messages only once a week and have them listed by title. If you would like this feature, send a message (leave subject field blank) to listproc@coe.neu.edu with message body:
