About Us

What is AIChE? American Insitute of Chemical Engineers is a national organization that caters to the needs of Chemical Engineers. The organization fosters connections between Undergraduate students, Graduate students and Professions in the Chemical Engineering field. AIChE exists to promote excellence in the Chemical Engineering profession. The organization also strives to promote good ethics, diversity and lifelong development for Chemical Engineers.

What can AIChE do for me? As an undergradate centered chapter, Northeastern AIChE focuses around enriching the education of chemical engineers and providing them with extra-curricular instruction. We provide weekly meetings which cater to developing professional skills as well as promoting a healthy balance of learning and relaxation. Northeastern AIChE also helps to foster relationships between students, providing help for classes and life. In brief, AIChE tries to improve the quality of life for Chemical Engineers at Northeastern University.

What about Co-op? Unlike other schools, Northeastern offers a unique opportunity to gain experiential learning and AIChE recognizes this. AIChE fosters connections between employers and students by having meetings that introduce Co-op positions and allows companies to share exactly what the Co-op position entails. At these meetings students are free to talk to their prospective employers and form all-important personal connections even before entering into the hiring process. There is also an annual Co-op mixer in which corporations attend for the sole reason of forming professional connections on a small scale.
