The core of Mohammeds work is on model reduction in chemically reacting systems using ideas of Maximum Entropy Principle. Rate-Controlled Constrained-Equilibrium (RCCE) theory of reacting systems is the means by which he does model reduction. The idea is that, in spite of the great complexity posed by combustion of heavy hydrocarbons, there are quite a few constraints and, as a result, chemical reactions which are responsible for most of the observed physical behaviors.
