Engineers Week 2017
About the College of Engineering
Engineering at Northeastern is about creating solutions for a high-velocity world. We focus our research on tough problems that affect the lives of people around the globe. We are relentlessly innovative scholars who collaborate across disciplines, industries, and international borders. As educators, we build on the distinctive power of experiential learning to prepare our students for leadership in engineering, business, and life.
Engineers Week 2017
The week starts out with Women in Engineering Day on Saturday February 18.
This is a great way for students (especially sophomores & juniors in high school) who love math and science to learn more about the field of engineering and meet some of our female engineering students.
Throughout the week we have distinguished lectures visiting from MIT Lincoln Laboratory, Lux Capital, Stanford University, and Bose Corporation.
Cybersecurity, cancer research, and earthquake resilience are just some key areas to be presented by renowned researchers and industry experts. Learn, share and network with others.
Take the time for a tour of the new Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex!
Beginning in ISEC’s large atrium, the tour will visit the College of Engineering’s office and lab spaces, view teaching laboratories and the 280-seat auditorium, and also enable participants to engage in a Q&A discussion with building management. Tours will last about 30 minutes with a 15 minute Q&A session.
Have some fun with the department of chemical engineering at their pizza mixer, trivia, and games and activities events!
Games and Activities Nitrogen Ice Cream: Enjoy a delicious treat with a Chemical Engineering twist. DIY Lava Lamp: Apply chemical principles to generate real-time color fluxes inside a dynamic environment. Silly Putty: 1% of ingredient + 99% of creativity to make your smart silly putty.
