SMTP authentication for Microsoft Outlook

  1. Inside of Microsoft Outlook 2010 Click on the "File Tab" in the menu bar, and Click "Info" "Account Settings..."


  1. Click to select / highlight your email account. Click "Change... existing e-mail accounts"


  1. Click on the "More Settings" Button


  1. Click on the "Outgoing Server" tab. Check the box next to "My outgoing server requires Authentication". Make sure the radio button next to "Use same settings as my imcoming mailserver is highlighted"


  1. Click on the "Advanced" tab.
    Next to "Incoming (IMAP)" put in the 993 port number and under that check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
    Next to "Outgoing (SMTP)" put in the 587 port number and under that check the box next to "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)".
    Then click "Ok"


  1. Click "Next"


  1. Click "Close"


  1. Click "Finish"


  1. Click "Close"
