The Connections Program
  1. How do middle-school girls hear about Connections? Have you been successful in generating interest in the local neighborhoods around NU?
  2. Does Connections focus on underserved kids or do you focus on a more general group?

Middle-School girls hear about Connections through the Girl Scouts. Connections is partnership between Northeastern University and the Boston area Patriots' Trail Girl Scout Council. The PTGSC has focused on schools in the area such as Grover Cleveland Middle School, Shaw Middle School and Washington Irving Middle School.

Yes. Connections is dedicated to strengthening the pathways for Boston area girls interested in pursuing college majors and careers related to engineering and science.

The Connections Facilities
  1. When is the clubhouse open? Are most of the computers being used when the clubhouse is open?

The Connections Computer Clubhouse is open on an appointment based system. Usually the clubhouse is open when visiting middle schools and high schools are here for a Connections sponsored event. If a parent is interested in bringing their child to the Connections Computer Clubhouse he or she should call in advance to set up a time to come in. You can reach the Connections Computer Clubhouse at (617) 373-3056.

The E-Mentoring Program
  1. My E-Mentoring group doesn't seem to be very active. What can I do to help increase activity when the other members don't write back?

Email E-Mentor Central and let us here at Connections know about your concerns. We'll get in touch with the other members of your group and see if we can help stimulate activity. And if in worse case-scenario this doesn't work we'll place you in a more active E-Mentor group.
