Connections is aimed at women interested in the fields of Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology. A majority of the Northeastern undergraduate women involved in the Connections program are enrolled in the Northeastern University College of Engineering or the Northeastern University College of Arts and Sciences.

As an undergraduate student at Northeastern University, CONNECTIONS offers you a wide range of activities aimed at preparing women for careers in engineering and science. Connections offers:

Workshops on college and career issues such as career-management, interviewing, time management, negotiation, investing your savings, and much much more! Consider taking the 1QH "Connections Career Course" to earn a grade or audit one or more class meetings as part of our "Career Series."

The opportunity to practice skills learned in the Career Series.

The opportunity to meet and interact with working professional women in your field.

A group of professionals and students for building your own personal and professional networks. Use your network to open study groups, to gain valuable career guidance, or to create opportunities.

Common Living and Learning in the Northeastern Residence Halls ... just request "Connections" on the Residence Life application form. If you are interested in being an RA on the Connections floor you must meet all Res Life RA deadlines.

Benefits such as having top priority to use the Connections Computer Lab and being placed in an E-Mentor group. Everyone is welcome at our events. Registering with Connections is required to participate in E-Mentoring.

Job opportunities as a Computer Lab Assistant or to work weekly with middle school and high school students.

Opportunities for community outreach.

Connections is not only available to NEU women; the program also targets middle school and high school girls to help them prepare for future careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). E-Mentoring is a major part of Connections and is offered to participants of high school age and older. E-Mentoring allows NU women to be in contact with one or more professional mentors and Boston area high school girls via email who are interested in STEM fields. It's a unique opportunity that allows NEU women the chance to share their knowledge of what it is like to go to college and major in a STEM field and a chance to ask questions about what it's like to choose a career in a STEM field.
