Interdisciplinary Engineering PhD Selected for Summer Institute

Interdisciplinary Engineering PhD student Kate Duffy was selected to participate in the National Water Center Innovators Program Summer Institute of 2018. Duffy works in Auroop Ganguly’s Sustainability and Data Sciences Lab and has two years of work experience at Arcadis, NYC, after a BS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Cornell with a concentration in Water.

The Consortium of Universities for the Advancement of Hydrologic Science, Inc. (CUAHSI) summer internship is a seven-week intensive program where students work to contribute to water-related products and decision support offered by the National Water Center. Themes this year include hyper resolution modeling, groundwater flow modeling, computational aspects of hydrologic modeling, and data assimilation. Projects are led by theme leaders in collaboration with national experts in hydrology, modeling, and decision support. The internship takes place at the National Water Center’s University of Alabama location.
