NU Talk 2017

  • Are you doing fascinating research at your co-op or on campus?
  • Is there a science or engineering topic you're passionate about?
  • Do you want to showcase your research and knowledge to Northeastern students?
  • If so, you should apply to be a speaker at the third annual NU Talk!

What is NU Talk?

NU Talk is a 100% student lead and run event similar to a TED Talk, where 8 students from a variety of STEM disciplines can present their research or a topic of their choice to other students and faculty. The event itself is designed to be fun for people of all knowledge backgrounds. For the past two years, the Biology Club has organized NU Talk with the help of other science clubs on campus. This upcoming NU Talk will take place on February 6th 2017.

What can I talk about?

Any STEM topic you're passionate about! Presentations are 5 – 7 minutes, fun and informative, and focus on some innovation or new research in a STEM field of your choice. You can view last year's talks on our YouTube page.

What are the benefits of speaking at NU Talk?

NU Talk is a great opportunity to talk about your interests and enhance your resume. All presentations will be professionally recorded for you to show to future employers and  academic institutions. Speakers will be able to improve their public speaking skills through training personal training by students and faculty, receive a certificate signed by their respective Dean in recognition for their achievement, and earn a small scholarship towards their tuition.
