Dr. Lucas Landherr presents: "Surviving and Crowdfunding the World: Kickstarter, Patreon and a Webcomic Side-Project"

Creative projects and crowdfunding efforts require similar combinations in order to build to success.  Building a supportive audience through effective use of advertisement, social media, and word-of-mouth; consistent quality production; a distinct and unique voice / viewpoint / product; timing and luck - all of these factors may be necessary for both creative work and for efforts like Kickstarter and Patreon.  This presentation will discuss the varying degrees of success and failure in the six-year-old webcomic "Surviving the World", and outline the benefits, difficulties, and process of producing work through Kickstarter.

Dr. Lucas Landherr is an academic specialist within the Chemical Engineering Department at Northeastern University, but is far better known for his creative work as Dante Shepherd through the webcomic "Surviving The World".
