SMILE Lab needs your help! Will you volunteer to help us with our motion-capture research?

As you may have heard, we recently built a data collection center in one of the meeting rooms in the lab located in 427 Richards Hall. The room is containing an array of top of the line optical sensors that capture skeleton information; additionally, there are Kinects to capture depth information.

We hope to build a database of different humans performing various actions. For this, we need a lot of volunteers—in short, a session takes about 1 hour; some time spent preparing volunteers with wearable sensors, and the rest spent collecting data from sensors while specific actions are performed.

Although this is work for us, we like to have fun doing it, so we hope it would be an enjoyable/ educational experience for you as well. Moreover, accommodations will be made per request.

We recently designed and ordered COE-SMILE Lab t-shirts. Volunteers will receive one as a token of appreciation. Tell your friends, we can use all the help we can get.

More information will be provided upon your reply (specifics/ details that are only necessary for those interested in partaking). Deadline is December 15, 2017.

If you are able / willing to engage with us in this research and or if there are any questions email Joseph Robinson (jrobins1@coe.neu.edu) and Cc Emily Freed (freed.e@husky.neu.edu).
