The University will make every effort to operate during periods
of inclement weather. However, if it becomes necessary to close,
both day and evening classes will be canceled unless specifically
stated otherwise. When appropriate the University will utilize
the delayed opening procedure with the University opening at 10:00
a.m., and classes beginning at the regularly scheduled times thereafter.
Media outlets authorized to announce the University's decision
to close or delay its opening are radio stations: WBZ (1030 AM),
WRKO (680 AM), WFNX (101.7 FM), television stations: WBZ-TV 4,
WCVB-TV 5, WHDH-TV 7, WLVI-TV 56, and on WBUR@s (90.9 FM) web
site at www.wbur.org. Deaf and
hard-of-hearing members of the University community may obtain
information on school cancellations by dialing the MCI Relay Service
toll free at 800.439.2370. The Relay Service will then dial into
the University's main number, 617.373.2000, for the recorded message.
In addition, in the event that evening classes are canceled,
the Graduate School will make every effort to post a notice on
our home
page.
