Instructions for Graduate Engineering Applicants


Please note the following important changes to our application process:

1. Online applications are now REQUIRED. If you have a paper application, it is out of date and will not be accepted.

2. Official GRE and TOEFL scores must be submitted through ETS. Photocopies will not be accepted and will be discarded.

3. Official Transcripts must be mailed directly to the Graduate School of Engineering.

4. 2008-2009 DCF form and supporting financial documents should be mailed to the Graduate School of Engineering. These documents MUST be ORIGINALS. Photocopies will not be accepted.

All other application materials MUST be submitted ONLINE.

To be enrolled in Northeastern University's Graduate School of Engineering, applicants must have earned a bachelor of science degree in engineering or in a closely related field * from an accredited college or university.

Applying now is easy with our new online application.

All documents submitted must be originals. Official transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate course work are required. Request that the transcripts be sent directly to the Graduate School of Engineering. Letters of recommendation should be completed by someone acquainted with your academic and personal qualifications and must be completed online (a link to these is provided to you once you create your online account).

Please send only those documents required to complete your application package. Unsolicited documents will not improve your chances for admission and will be discarded.

Applications received after the stated deadline but before the start of the semester will be processed, however it may not be possible to have a decision rendered in time for you to begin taking classes.

Application deadlines:

Full-time: For assistantship consideration January 31
  All others April 15
 
Part-time: Fall Semester August 15
  Spring Semester November 15

A complete application package must consist of the following:

  Completed application form
2.
  Two confidential letters of recommendation
3.
  Application fee of USD $50
4.

5.
  Resume for the Cooperative Plan of Education (if applicable)
6.
  Statement of purpose (Ph.D. applicants only)

Official GRE scores are required of:**
     A) all M.S. in Information Systems applicants
     B) applicants who do not hold undergraduate degrees from an
     accredited college or university within the United States

8.

*The Master of Science in Information Systems program and the Master of Science in Telecommunication Systems Management program will also consider applicants who have a bachelor's degree in a discipline other engineering or a closely related field.
