The Department of Chemical
Engineering offers the following graduate degree programs:
Master of Science in Chemical Engineering
Master of Science (without specification)
Doctor of Philosophy
Students may pursue a Master’s Degree on either a
full- or part-time basis. Students generally pursue the
Doctor of Philosophy on a continuous full-time basis consistent
with the residence requirements for the degree as shown
below. Students who wish to pursue a PhD program part-time
may petition the departmental Graduate Committee for approval
to do so.
Students who will complete a Dissertation or Thesis may
select topics from a diverse range of faculty research interests.
In addition, graduate student seminars are held on a regular
basis and provide an interactive forum for learning about
departmental research and for exchanging ideas. Most Chemical
Engineering courses are offered in the late afternoon or
early evening to make them accessible to part-time students
pursuing full-time industrial careers.
