Scheduled Construction Blasting in the Fenway: May 1 and 2
The Massachusetts State Police has been notified by Charter Environmental, a construction company working on the Muddy River Project in the Fenway area of Boston that they will be conducting Stat-Namic testing next week. This type of testing consists of extremely loud blasts into the ground to test the strength of existing pilings/support structures located underground. These tests sound very much like cannon blasts or very loud gunshots. Given recent events in Boston, information about the scheduled testing and associated blasts is being widely disseminated to public safety agencies, the public and the media.
Here is the announced schedule for testing.
UPDATE 4/30: testing is postponed for one day from this schedule.
- Tuesday 4/30/13, 9:30 - 11:00am, 4 blasts
- Wednesday 5/1/13, 1:00 - 2:30pm, 4 blasts
