Friday November 14, 2014 Dr. Jerome F. Hajjar was recognized as the CDM Smith Professor in Civil Engineering with a ceremony and inaugural lecture.
Dr. Hajjar has been widely recognized internationally for his contributions to the field of civil engineering over his 25 year career. He has served on numerous national and international committees, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Structural Engineering Institute, and the American Institute of Steel Construction. He is a Fellow of the ASCE and SEI, and has been awarded the ASCE Norman Medal, the ASCE Shortridge Hardesty Award and the Top 10 Breakthrough Award from Popular Mechanics.
His research interests include: Steel and composite steel/concrete structures; earthquake engineering; structural stability; large-scale experimental testing of structures; computational simulation.
