Noisy Engineers Union

First-year engineering students in Assistant Teaching Professor Joshua Hertz's GE1501 Cornerstone of Engineering course built new electronic percussion instruments for their team design projects (informally dubbed "Noisy Engineers Union") and worked with a local musician, Maria Finkelmeier, to test them. Each team had to design and build a brand new technology-enabled, electronic musical instrument for Ms. Finkelmeier as the client. Each team met with her a few times, making proposals and working off of her feedback. The projects turned out great, with fantastic visual and musical aesthetics! Maria has posted some of the projects on her blog and chose the 5 designs that best matched her requirements and desires and will be posting a short video of her performing a brief improvisational song with their instrument on her Instagram account.
