ABOUT NUPRIME

NUPRIME (Northeastern University Programs in Multicultural Engineering) is committed to cultivating and supporting diversity and academic excellence at Northeastern University. For over 25 years, NUPRIME has been committed to helping historically under-represented students fulfill their potential, academically and professionally, thereby helping Northeastern University to meet its urban centered mission.

Studying engineering at Northeastern University provides you with the educational skills and background needed to seize upon opportunities that will open up to you. NUPRIME helps you to understand the value of these opportunities and how to best prepare one's self to seize such opportunities. This is further enhanced by early introduction into the practice-oriented engineering arena via the cooperative educational experience.

NUPRIME provides student organizational advisory support. It is currently the advisory office to two national engineering student chapters on Northeastern University's campus, SHPE (Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers) and NSBE (National Society of Black Engineers), thereby providing a national focus as part of Northeastern University's mission.

While most students involved with NUPRIME are Latino/Latina, African-American or Native American, they may be of any background. What they all share is great potential, a commitment to success, and a desire to become engineers.

NUPRIME provides a community that welcomes you to the Northeastern University campus. It also provides a place for you to get academic and financial counseling or will work to help you find those who are able to provide it. Essentially, NUPRIME gives you an access point to become part of the few paving the way for the many.
