Sharon joined Northeastern University in July 2014 as a Co-op Coordinator for the Graduate School of Engineering, where she worked closely with graduate students in both Mechanical & Industrial Engineering and the Multidisciplinary Masters programs. In her current role, she teaches and advises undergraduate students in the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Co-op Program, and partners with employers to develop and maintain co-op work opportunities for Mechanical Engineering students.
Prior to coming to Northeastern, Sharon was a science teacher at Westborough High School, where she developed a rigorous curriculum that emphasized hands-on learning and critical thinking. She has an electrical engineering background and worked for several years as hardware design engineer and project leader in the Advanced Development Semiconductor group at Digital Equipment Corporation.
Sharon earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Boston University. She is a Massachusetts certified teacher in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
