REGISTERING FOR COURSES
Course registrations are generally done online using MyNEU. New international students can register for courses only after receiving immigration clearance from the ISSI office. The complete schedule of courses available for any semester is given on the Registrar's web site along with registration key numbers, room locations and links to course descriptions. The current schedule for courses offered by the Graduate School of Engineering is available on the GSE web site.
TSM students may register for any course listed among the core courses and elective courses on this web site. It is generally recommended that students meet with their program advisor (the director of the TSM program) before registering for classes. In general, students should take core courses before electives.
The maximum number of credits that a student can usually register for in any semester is 12. Students wanting to register for more than 12 must seek permission from their advisor.
For some of the elective courses in the College of Business Administration, students will not be able to register directly online. In those cases, students need to send an email to the TSM program director identifying the CBA course (name, number, section & key) for which they want to register. The student's name and NU ID also need to be provided. Also, please be aware that the schedule for graduate MBA courses is posted, and courses are available for registration, at least one full semester in advance of other colleges at Northeastern.
If a student wishes to take a course that's not officially listed as an elective, the student must get approval from the TSM program director (preferably by email) before registering for the course.
TSM core courses and electives are often available via streaming video. Note that full-time international students must register for at least one on-ground course in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Students planning to go on co-op must take the zero-credit course ENCP 6000, Introduction to Cooperative Education (formerly GSE G001), prior to seeking a co-op assignment. This course is generally offered in both the Fall and Spring semesters.
Students who are on a co-op assignment with industry must register for TSMG 6964, Co-op Work Experience (formerly GSE G650), each semester they are on co-op, including summer semesters.
