ASME: American Society of Mechanical Engineers, NU Student Chapter

NU ASME brings in engineers and other company representatives to talk about new and upcoming technology, their industry, and their co-op opportunities every week. It is a great way to make connections and explore your future career.

NU ASME hosts weekly workshops and bootcamps to teach students hard and soft mechanical engineering skills. Every semester NU ASME organizes a SOLIDWORKS course to teach students how to use the CAD software and give them a chance to obtain a Certified SOLIDWORKS Associate certification (CSWA). NU ASME provides a platform for students to supplement their classes by extending their engineering knowledge and their skill set.

ASME helps the global engineering community develop solutions to real-world challenges. Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing, and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society. ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education, and professional development programs provide a foundation for advancing technical knowledge and a safer world.
