NU ASME brings in representatives of companies and other professionals to talk to students about engineering companies as well as new and upcoming information/technology in the field. It is a great way to make connections and explore your future career. They also teach a 3D modeling training course (SolidWorks) to better prepare students for their Co-Ops. They sponsor the Solar Boat and SailBot student design projects and aim to help students grow as professionals, gain experience, and build a healthy resume.
ASME helps the global engineering community develop solutions to real world challenges. Founded in 1880 as the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, ASME is a not-for-profit professional organization that enables collaboration, knowledge sharing and skill development across all engineering disciplines, while promoting the vital role of the engineer in society. ASME codes and standards, publications, conferences, continuing education and professional development programs provide a foundation for advancing technical knowledge and a safer world.
